As if yesterday wasn’t bad enough for journeyman congressional candidate Rob Wasinger, today his campaign’s astroturf continues to show just how low this guy will go to con Virginian voters.
Shaun Kenney at Bearing Drift called out this sock puppetry by pointing to Wasinger’s history of astroturfing campaign efforts during his failed bid for Congress in Kansas’s 1st Congressional District.
Steve Albertson put the pieces together over at The Bull Elephant and revealed that the opposition research did indeed come from Wasinger’s campaign, having been put together by Carl Paulus, a Senior Legislative Assistant to Rep. Kerry Bentivolio, who Wasinger served as Chief of Staff until this week.
That was what you might call a rough day.
But Wasinger and company clearly didn’t have enough.
Today emails are arriving in inboxes questioning Barbara Comstock’s pro-life credentials (which is laughable). The emails are generated from virginiansforlife.com – a domain that has no website and was not registered until February 3rd, 2014 and clearly meant to confuse voters into thinking it’s from longstanding Virginians For Life (http://www.virginiansforlife.org/)
Who could be behind such a website?
Let’s look at the underlying whois data, shall we?

Now, you may be asking yourself, who is Richard Piwko?
Richard Piwko is a part-time staffer for none other than, tah-dah – Rep. Kerry Bentivolio!
Guess who his boss was?
Chief of Staff Robert Wasinger!
TWO Congressional staffers are helping a guy who, up until this week, was Chief of Staff for a sitting Congressman attack a nominee to replace Rep. Frank Wolf. So here’s the big question: how much in taxpayer funded time and resources is being used to attack Barbara Comstock?
And does Rep. Bentivolio know what his staff is doing?
Silly season continues in the 10th Congressional District…
Seriously, who do these people think they are? (And why does Kerry Bentivolio hire such a Keystone Kops staff?) How can a person who claims to be conservative, and claims to want to represent Virginia’s 10th District, undertake such deceptive and immoral tactics? Voters in the 10th District need to run this clown out of town on a rail.
