Feminists Have Their Heads In the Sand

The recent kerfuffle regarding McDonald’s Happy Meals is another example of the craven nature of the American Feminist movement.  The faux outrage of the moment is about the fact that the toys are not gender neutral.  That Slate gave this story any space stretches the limits of credulity.

In the fall of 2008, when I was 11 years old, I wrote to the CEO of McDonald’s and asked him to change the way his stores sold Happy Meals. I expressed my frustration that McDonald’s always asked if my family preferred a “girl toy” or a “boy toy” when we ordered a Happy Meal at the drive-through. My letter asked if it would be legal for McDonald’s “to ask at a job interview whether someone wanted a man’s job or a woman’s job?”

With all the real horrors women encounter elsewhere in the world day to day, Slate is wasting ink and time on this triviality?  Who thought this was germane to the plight of real women?   Only in the fantasy world of American Feminism would the outrage regarding the toys be treated as something other than the ravings of a spoiled 11 year old.

There is real misogyny in the world.  The Happy Meal is not part of it.   As an example please note the words of the leader of Indian Politician India’s Socialist Party, Mulayam Singh Yadav:

… the head of India’s Socialist (Samajwadi) Party, said he would get rid of a recently introduced law that handed death sentences to repeat rape offenders, because it was not uncommon “for boys to make mistakes”.

So rape is a common mistake boys make?  Does this statement damn Yadav or India?  I am leaning toward Yadav, but Indian society does bear some of the blame as  Indian has the second highest rate of sex-selective abortion in the world.

Indians have begun to recognize this epidemic of sexual hatred in their midst. Far from just a matter of rape, it’s an environment where, in some regions, there are 800 girls alive for every 1,000 boys, because sex-selective abortion and female infanticide are so widespread

In some regions in India there are 5 boys for every 4 girls?  The implication is obvious, twenty percent of the girls are aborted of suffer infanticide.  This is monstrous. In the meantime, American Feminists are focused on Barbie Dolls and Disney Princesses.  Back in the old world,  India’s issue with rape is only now becoming fully uncovered as most of these incidents go unreported.  Yadav’s diatribe continues:

Referring to a recent case from Mumbai in which three men were sentenced to death for carrying out two gang rapes, Mr Yadav told an election rally that rape happens because women lead men on. “Boys will be boys. Following a girl-boy fight, the girl complains she was raped,” he said.

Yadav is looking to overturn a law that was passed in response to the gang rape epidemic.  Those who are found guilty in more than one instance of gang rape, may face the death penalty.  More than one gang rape?  How often does this happen that a law is required for this class of sadist?  Serial-gang-rapist.  Really?  Where are the Feminists defending their sisters?  I guess there is a Miss America pageant to protest — that is where the real danger lies.

The US is a place where now there are significantly more women in college and grad school then there are men.   The American Feminist movement ignores this, and along with the myriads of other freedoms of women enjoy here.   They instead focus on marriage and declare it to be a form of slavery:

To be happy in a relationship which imposes so many impediments on her, as traditional marriage does, women must be slightly mentally ill.”
-Jessie Bernard

Perhaps they should turn their ire away from the majority of American men here who seek chiefly to peacefully coexist with women and turn on the likes of Mr. Yadav and his ilk who truly oppress women in Africa, the Middles East, India and China. Cultures that openly declare war on women. American Feminism’s cowardice is showing and it is rank.

  1. The good thing about their having their heads in the sand is that we don’t have to look at their faces. The bad thing is, their @$$3$ are sticking up. o_O
