Del. Jackson Miller (R-Manassas) has cautioned candidates lining up to run for Brentsville Dist. supervisor on the Prince William County Board of Supervisors in a special election to hold their horses. The expectation that current supervisor Wally Covington will be appointed to a judgeship has triggered the build-up, but things have been delayed due to the protracted negotiations over the state budget. Miller says that Covington’s appointment isn’t a done deal just yet and it will be at least the end of July before the General Assembly takes up the issue of judicial appointments.
Virginia Virtucon has already strongly endorsed ’11 candidate Jeanine Lawson as the best choice for Brentsville supervisor, regardless of whether it is an open seat special election or the regularly scheduled ’15 election against the incumbent.
